Local installer donates £500 to children’s hospice

    Thursday, September 1st, 2011

Guildford window installer P&P Glass ran a unique promotion which resulted in a £500 donation to local hospice charity Shooting Star CHASE.

P&P Glass donated £25 for each door ordered from its new timber-effect door range in July and August, making £500 for Shooting Star CHASE.

Shooting Star CHASE cares for local families with a child or teenager not expected to reach their 19th birthday. The charity supports over 500 families living in West London, Surrey and West Sussex with practical nursing and emotional support – all free of charge. The organisation has two hospices – one in Guildford and another in Hampton – and also provides a ‘Hospice at Home’ service, with nurses, physiotherapist and consultants who visit patients in their own houses.

Alex Robinson, who accepted the cheque on behalf of Shooting Star CHASE said: “It’s fantastic to have the support of local companies like P&P Glass, which has supported us since 2009, and we’re delighted to receive this latest donation. The money will allow Shooting Star CHASE to be their for families every step of their journey, sharing the good times, and helping them through the tough times with practical, nursing and emotional support.”

Established in 1981 P & P Glass directly employs over forty local people supplying windows, doors and conervatories in aluminium, timber and PVC-U. P&P is also a Founding Member of the Double Glazing and Conservatory Ombudsman Scheme (www.dgcos.org.uk), the consumer protection organisation fronted by TV’s Nick Ross.
